Pablo is Uruguayan, born in Montevideo. He graduated in mathematics from Udelar in 2005. In 2006 he obtained his Master's degree in mathematics at the University of Toronto under the supervision of Mike Shub. He completed his PhD at the same university in early 2011, specialising in dynamical systems and smooth ergodic theory. His advisors were Charles Pugh and Mike Shub.. He undertook postdoctoral studies at IMPA (2011-2013), under the supervision of Enrique Pujals, at the ICMC supervised by Ali Tahzibi (2013-2014), and at Penn State University, supervised by Federico Rodriguez-Hertz (2015-2016). He has been an assistant professor at the Federal University of Minas Gerais since 2017. During this period he has been guiding doctoral, masters and undergrad research students. He has been a guest lecturer at several international events, and has also helped to organise some of these events. He has published in top tier-journals in the area, having also acted as a reviewer. He has taught courses in different countries, at basic and advanced level. A Peñarol fan.
